Summer is coming to an end. And for many schools, are going back into session, others find themselves returning to work and or finding work if you are in my boat. As the seasons start to change and the weather that comes with it, so do our style choices. This post is a small project containing my findings and predictions of fashion trends that are likely to follow us into early fall. The data was compiled and collected from June 29th to July 7th, 2025
Before we begin, it's safe to say many people are over the summer heat waves and are ready for fall. I won't deny the idea of autumn is extremely tempting, the idea of showcasing my color palette as a dark autumn, especially after intense weeks of 90 degree heat. Searches like “When do fall clothes come out” (2850%), “Fall activities near me” (4850%), “Cozy fall movies” (3100%), and “Kids winter coats” (4000%) took over Google's search engine, rightfully so.
1. Fur Print
Fur print is the trend I’m most excited about this season. As of June 29th, interest in fur prints surged by 450%. Animal patterns such as zebra, cheetah, leopard, and snake have seen notable increases in both search volume and presence in fashion collections. Specific items have experienced a dramatic growth, some of these including leopard print shorts (120%), pink leopard print (90%), zebra print bikinis (350%), Adidas leopard print pants (130%), and leopard print heels (170%).
Another thing that excites me is how accurate this trend forecast has proven to be! During my recent interactions with digital campaigns, public interactions, and visits to retail stores, I’ve noticed a rise in items featuring the use of animal prints across stores, fashion editorials, and advertising campaigns. Brands like H&M, Miu Miu, Prada, and Adidas have incorporated fur prints into their latest collections.
With fall approaching, the fur trend is expected to grow even further. Faux fur and Fur based jackets, in particular, are gaining traction, a spike of 1400% increase in interest as of July 6th. We are moving out of quiet minimalist style pieces, into bold style statements that offer warmth and functionality for the cooler months to come.
2. Tank Tops
Although quiet luxury and minimalist styles are coming to an end, for now. People are now opting for comfort, and instead pairing them with bold accessories. That being said, it is no surprise to see tank tops trending. They are proven to be simple, comfortable, and wearable through the extreme heat that comes hand in hand with summer.
For men’s fashion, G Unit tank tops increased by a whopping 300%. For both men and women, there's a drastic increase in various styles of tank tops: Diesel Tank tops by 130%, Thick strap tank tops by 160%, and Chrome Hearts tank tops by 250%.
3. Slip dresses
A versatile pick for both summer and Fall, slip dresses increased in search by a staggering 600%. A dress perfect for a night out to a bar, night wear, or a casual hangout with the girls. The Freudian slip dress increased in search by 350%, a dress name related to Sigmund Freud. The term Freudian surrounds Freud’s psychological ideas, focusing on the sexual appeal that consumes a person's feelings unconsciously. The Freudian dress is just that, alluring, attractive, and breathtaking in an almost effortless way. A perfect example of excellent craftsmanship and psychology.
With the sudden growth of animal print styled prints in the market, it's not surprising that Animal print Slip dresses are trending by 250%. Last but definitely not least, the rise of Sheath slip dresses by 450%.
Business formal
Not sure why it is. Whether the employment rate is increasing, or those who are unemployed like me are manifesting their next job through their normal attire. Maybe even a newfound love for formal business attire, or the rise of the office siren aesthetic. The possibilities are endless, and so is the newfound love for this style.
Items that are currently trending are often seen paired in everyday business attire looks: Woman's Fleece vest(600%), Woman’s weighted vest (400%), Men’s sweater vest(300%), Black tie (700%), and Black Romper (450%) are trending.
But this is only the start, as more people are searching for business casual blouses by a large 250%. A variation of these blouses, peplum blouses, rose by 350%, growing to be one of my favorites out of these searches. Seeing different styles of peplum, black with trims at the bottom or another with a bow in the middle of the blouse, is a perfect blouse to pair with a pencil skirt or Dress pants. Almost makes me wish I had a job to wear this to. Dress pants, including baggy dress pants, are trending by 200% which highlights consumers' desire for comfort in style and are expected to peak at the end of July by 78% before slowly going back down.
But what would a proper work attire be without a center top piece? In this case, the classic blazer and Trench coat which were both seen trending. Different variations of Blazers from black blazers (250%), Blazer dresses (200%), Yang Blazer (120%), and white blazers (100%). As we move into fall, many employees are finding new jobs or returning to work, and blazers are predicted to go up at an exceptional rate for the next 3 months. 45% of users searching from blazers are aged 25 to 34, while 81% of users are women.
Trench coats, another crucial work attire, found their way into the search bar. With an outbreak of an overwhelming 450%. Going into cooler weather, trench coats are expected to stay in collections, stores, and search for the next 3 months and perhaps even longer. Some styles of trench coats are: gabardina mujer (300%) searched amongst all age groups, Mafia trench coats, and even some branded trench coats like Zara (200%) and Barbour (150%), which is expected to go up the next 3 months by 66%.
Lastly, Collar clothing is expected to skyrocket in markets. As it is seen trending by an astonishing 700%. Here are some types of collars to expect in stores, on the streets, or even digital campaigns: Ganni collar by 4050%, Grandad collar shirt 300%, &collar shirts 450%, and Roman collar 300%.
5. Styles
It wasn’t long ago that we saw a rise in 90s fashion, makeup, and aesthetic. When times are uncertain, many consumers look to the past for comfort and to feel the nostalgia and happiness those times brought. Another trend of Y2k and 90s fashion is on the rise. The term Y2K aesthetic is trending by 120% and 90s fashion is trending by 3400% with an expectation to go up by 68% in September
There is also a rise in styles and attire that are heavily associated with traditional cultures around the world. Japanese Harajuku fashion is up 80%, and a brand called Kalki is trending at 110%. Kalki’s collection features conventional Indian attire. Alia Bhatt, a British Indian actress, was seen wearing a stunning pink saree last month, causing a 300% increase in pink sarees and a 250% increase in “Saree store near me”
