We will be looking through a list of various companies that collaborated with Star Wars to promote their new movie, The Force Awakens
In December 2017, ASOS A British online fashion and beauty retailer made a seven piece Star Wars collection. Which focuses on party wear and takes the Star Wars references to new territory as abstract print that call for a trained fan eye.
In November 2015, 9 member K-pop boy group EXO made a digital single called Lightsaber for the upcoming movie at the time “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Lightsaber peeked at number 3 on US world digital songs. And sold over 242,162 albums. Lightsaber has 3 versions the Korean version, Mandarin version, and Japanese version which was released later on the next year. The music video also has some Star Wars references that you can’t miss!
fun fact: EXO’s Sehun, Suho, and Chanyeol got to meet the cast of “The Force Awakens” At “Star Wars night party with EXO” event. It was told that they are also huge Star Wars fans. EXO’s Baekhyun and Suho also visited Lucasflim where they got to take a tour and take pictures with artifacts from the movies.
The STATE Bags x "Star Wars" Collection includes six backpacks inspired by Storm Troopers and Darth Vader. For every STATE Bag sold, they filled one with school supplies and provided for a child in need in the U.S.
For "The Last Jedi," Columbia Sportswear’s Echo Base collection, now inspired by "The Empire Strikes Back." Priced at $400 each, the three high-performance jackets named the Leia Organa, the Luke Skywalker and the Han Solo — reference costumes worn at the beginning of the movie, which takes place on ice planet Hoth.
5. Luhan x Star Wars - The Inner Force
January 2016, Luhan ex member of EXO also collabed with Star Wars. After leaving the group two years before going back to his home in China. Luhan later on released his digital single titled “The Inner Force”. The song is up beat while the music video is filled with clips from the Force Awakens.
Ugg put together a collection called the Droid Collection. Boots for all the "Star Wars"-The shoes are adorably inspired by franchises droids BB-8 and R2-D2. The capsule has a limited supply of 500 units per style, with prices ranging from $100-$185.
Earlier this December, Bloomingdale's teamed up with Lucasfilm to create a "Star Wars" collaborations. The department store tapped in 11 designers //Diane von Furstenberg, Cynthia Rowley, Giles Deacon, Halston, Opening Ceremony, Ovadia & Sons, Parker, Rag & Bone, Timo Weiland, Billy Reid and Todd Snyder//to create looks inspired by the new and old characters in "The Force Awakens."
While fashion brands and retailers were all over "Star Wars" merch, beauty collaborations were limited to just this one with CoverGirl. The silvery, shimmery lipsticks and mascaras featuring quotes from the movie like "I see the good in you.” And etc. (Some are already sold out, if your lucky you may find some)
British-based shoe manufacturer Clarks got into the "Star Wars" spirit with its "Force of Nature" collection. The items an updated execution of Clarks' Nature V boot — have been designed to "[champion] female power and authenticity," much of which is represented by the trilogy's leading heroine, Rey. Beyond inspiration, Rey is also included in the actual design of the shoe: The iconic Resistance symbol is included on the boot's heel, while four of the six colorways come in a "Rey"-branded camouflage pattern.
The Clarks x Star Wars "Force of Nature" collection, which dropped December 1st, retail for $160 for women and $120 for girls.
Christian Louboutin linked up with both Disney and Lucasfilm — Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012 for a record $4 billion — on a one-of-a-kind collaboration on four heel styles, each epitomizing the spirit of four of "The Last Jedi"'s heroines: Rey, Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo (Laura Dern), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran). The items have each been signed by Louboutin himself, as well as the actress who plays each shoe's namesake. The collection was auctioned on Charity Buzz with all proceeds benefitting Starlight Children's Foundation, a nonprofit that works across the U.S. to bring joy hospitalized children and their families.
